On October 15, 1935, a surveying crew found the body of an unidentified man hanging from a rocky ledge just across the Weber-Box Elder County line in the hills east of Utah Hot Springs. The man had been dead for about a day. He was described as white, between 30 to 40 years old, 6’1” tall with dark brown hair. A shopkeeper in Ogden remembered selling the man several clothing items he was found wearing, new overalls, a blue shirt, a light brown cap, an old leather jacket. Other items found were a belt, 65 cents, a pocketknife, an empty wallet.
