Fingerprint and Photo Services for the Public

Fingerprint Services Resuming May 16

Starting Monday, May 18th, BCI will begin providing fingerprinting and photo services on a limited basis.  All fingerprinting and photos will be done by appointment only. There is currently no option to do photo-only service.   To schedule an appointment for fingerprinting or fingerprint/photo services, please call (801) 965-4445 and then press 0.  

A face covering or mask will be required for all customers being fingerprinted and temperature will be taken with a contactless thermometer.  Please bring a mask or face covering to wear while being fingerprinted.  You will also be required to wash your hands before being fingerprinted.  Please do not schedule an appointment if you have had any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours:

  • Fever or Feeling Feverish (chills, sweating, etc.)
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Cough
  • Sore Throat
  • Loss of Taste or Smell
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

Please do not schedule an appointment if within the past 14 days you have had close contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19, have traveled to an area where COVID-19 is spreading, or are under quarantine.

Only the person being fingerprinted should come to our office lobby.

If you need fingerprints/photos for a Driving Privilege Card, please contact BCI at (801) 965-4445, option 2 or Fingerprints submitted electronically or by mail will still be processed.

Fingerprinting/Photo Services

The Bureau of Criminal Identification offers fingerprint  services for applicant purposes, including; Concealed Firearms permits, Private Investigator licenses, Bail Enforcement licenses, school teachers, real estate agents, armed/unarmed guards, burglar alarm agents, health care workers, day care workers, Office of Education certification, adoptions, etc.  A government-issued form of identification (i.e., driver license, state ID card, passport, etc.) is required for the fingerprinting and photo services. Utah Driving Privilege cards will not be accepted as a form of ID.

Apostille and Authentication Services for Fingerprint Cards

At the time that fingerprinting is performed, BCI fingerprint technicians can provide an affidavit that can be attached to the fingerprint card.  BCI does not provide Apostille or Authentication of fingerprint cards.  You will need to take the fingerprint card and affidavit to the Lt.
