July 11, 1948 Sheriff Hyde was informed of a newly born baby girl had been found in the Bear River. The baby was found about 350 yards South and East of the Steel Bridge at Corinne, lying at the edge of the banks in the water. The body was taken to Felt Funeral Home, because of the state of the body it was impossible to do an Autopsy. The body could of been in the River at least a week or ten days.
