SOLVED 5/3/2022 Suspect George Toone
2/28/1974 James Vincent Bednarik, a 38-year-old man, was shot to death Thursday night at the rear of the Mon de Ville Apartments, 511-1st Ave., where he resided. Police officers responded to neighbors’ complaints at 9:40 p.m. and found James in the parking area shot “several” times. Neighbors reported seeing one or two men fleeing the scene in a car westbound on 1st Avenue. The victim was pronounced dead at University Hospital.
