On February 7, 2017, 57 year old Jimmy Gerald Barney walked away from his home leaving his car and everything behind, even his dog, which he never leaves without. He did take a pistol with him. Many people joined in the search for Jimmy, including Escalante Search and Rescue, and Department of Public Safety brought their helicopter. Drones were also deployed without any sightings of Barney.
