Lana Lynn LEE

Missing Person Cold Case Tip Hotline: 833-DPS-SAFE (833-377-7233)

On September 17, 1961, an extensive rainstorm came through the eastern portion of Kane County, Utah. At this time, Lana Lynn Lee played with some other children in the Wahweap Wash, east of Big Water (Formally Glen Canyon City). Lana became separated from her friends and was swept away in the floodwaters.

Extensive searched for Lana Lee were fruitless. Wahweap Wash drains directly into the Colorado River. There was extensive flooding in Wayne and Garfield Counties to the North of Lana’s Disappearance. Search parties surmised that Lana’s body was swept down the Colorado River. The Glen Canyon Dam didn’t impound water until March 13, 1963; Lana was likely swept into the Colorado River/Glen Canyon Area.
